My mind is a patchy field after 10 years of good soccer games. Woke up on the couch but at least I didn't sleep on the skytrain. The first thing I remembered was the Pat chants. Those were good. Then I remembered the fundraiser I promised for Lachlan. Not exactly sure what that was. I scan my phone for notes and see things like "Beef and Blue" and "Steve knows Yannick." These are confusing times for a wide boy in the city.
Look at what these animals have made,
a universe where just the righteous pay
Without stepping on an anthill I want to say that The Corps and The Greatest Sons are 2 of my most favourite bands. Fuck the word 'local.' We don't need it anymore. These are real bands and these are real feelings. I remember trying to count how many people from other bands were at the show but I mixed it up with the amount of sips I was hurling into my precious vessel. A beautiful by-product of having a blast in this continually expanding punk rock club, and the grass stains on my knees are an homage to the fruitfulness of the game we love.
Another empty house, these words are an empty cause
We chiseled it in stone, now they pick out all our flaws
I'd post some Anteater lyrics too, if I knew any. They were great last night as well. Another log on the fire. The talent banks are open and business is burning. Going to miss Pat behind the kit at Greatest Sons shows, but I hear he is secretly working on new recipes behind the scenes. And so it goes. Just remembered that I sang "For Ronnie" to Ronnie last night, so now the secret's out. This is why I'm not allowed on the band twitter or instagram accounts. I can't be trusted with valuables when I'm swimming in the smiley soup.
And I was standing on the Pederson side
When suddenly I was reminded...
It's fun getting bonked with fellow bonko's at punk shows. Looking forward to the next one, and the one after that. We play SBC on Friday with a band called Modern Terror featuring Limo from NOFX on drums. So basically, we are playing with NOFX. It's kinda like golfing with a pro hockey player. Excited as always to make our contribution to the cause. To stir up the nest, and make a mess. With jumps and spins and twirls and bends, hoping that this roller coaster never ends.
With a little help from our friends.
