January is a very confusing month. It is the bully of all the months. It pokes and it pushes, it punches and it laughs. Historical fact: In January, pizza and beer both taste 1% worse. Look it up. Doesn't stop the delicious waterfall of joy that I stand below, but I notice the 1% difference, the subtle lessons, the loss. An alarm goes off, the gaskets are starting to let the guilt in, so they will promptly need replacing. New year, new me. January, you overcooked roast, you stain on the calendar of fun.
We have 2 awesome shows in January!
Saturday January 23rd - Studio on Granville
This show is gonna be rad for about 15 reasons. If you've been to a YBI show before, chances are that Inhuman Company, The Greatest Sons, or Remember Lite-Brite were also playing. It's like a 65% chance, thats 65 times better than any January show ever. Without local bands loving each other, there is no local scene, and this combo will produce about a thousand hugs of love and a hundred handshakes of hands. Inhuman Company are FINALLY releasing their new EP. An album I have waited for like a pharaoh waits for the afterlife.

Then…Friday January 29th - The Vineyard in Chilliwack
I have a confession. Kinda more excited to play the 'wack show… Never played a show in Chilliwack before. It's like a whole other country. Karl would be proud. Plus, excited to see Poison Corn live. Them kids remind me of me, a year ago. Also stoked to see Slow Erase and Chaos Disorder and Panic. It's an all ages show and that boils my emotions even further. Just like the good ole days. Remember how fun everything was before booze ruined everything? Me too.
One month at a time, you guys.
