I want to start this story by saying that it is very dangerous to create a fake holiday in the heart of summer. People are busy doing real things with their lives. No time for punk shows, especially during firework season. Still, what a great success! The holiday spirit was loud and aggressive last night. Great bands made great sounds, and great fans sang along, with generous leaps and bounds, as the liquor flowed across the festive battlegrounds.
That Santa costume is fucked. Needs to be retired. My body isn't supposed to push that much water out of it. Plus I ruined the beard with soya sauce and mustard pre-show. It stunk hard. Almost gagged on stage. Sometimes the brightest flames come from the lowest ashes of shame.
This holiday season, remember to hug friends that come to local concerts and support people doing their favourite thing. Russ and Reg showed up early so we gave them 8 tickets and sent them on a missionary mission of Christmas encounters. They sold them all. This is like a store getting 8 new customers without putting fresh produce in the window.
Studio Records is a great venue, and Dan is a great sound guy. All the bands sounded great. I love sound. I love how stupid our band is allowed to be. When you focus on being dumb, the creative opportunities are endless. Thank you for supporting this mess.
My bro was making toasted cheese sandwiches at 3:02am in our parents home and suddenly we heard the clicking of the recliner in the living room. Dad popped up from his nap and gave his usual brilliant advice: "Always be polite and fight anyone who doesn't wave thank-you in traffic."
From the entire team here at YBI Industrial Supplies, we'd like to wish you and yours a plentiful, joyous holiday season, and all the best in the new year.
With deep respect and a passionate yearning for festive humility,
